There is a large amount of personas one individual can create--can assume. Many possibilities present themselves upon the individual when choosing to portray by the use of acting.
One can get lost in the fiction world that is created and become more than just a fan of the media. One can submerse into realities that for an outsider can seem illogical, but to the individual give so much reason for being.
Like a costume or a disguise, the individual can hide and play pretend, but also become so very much alive and free. People value books, why, is it it because of the paper? Because it acts as a foundation for something greater? Not only that, but the point that very many miss--those who don't read--is that it is the story that carries the weight: the meat of the book. The flesh--the skin that covers it, that is the foundation, but what lies beneath--inside, that's what is fresh and carries flavor.
We look at books and each and every one of them have a very distinctive cover, that is the hook, the bait, enticing our appetites for what attracts us, what wakes that hunger inside us, the desire for knowledge, the desire to get lost in the deep dark secrets beneath each page.
Once we open it, the hook catches us, unprepared, sometimes unhinged into the world of our imaginations, and it grabs us and carries us...sometimes it fails, but many times...it's perfect.
And as we read we become the narrator, the voice of the characters, we become more than just ourselves.
We become many.
So why be ourselves when we can be whoever we choose to be?
Why am I me when I can be anyone I want to be?
Embrace.
Become.
Live.
