The Things We Do Make Us Who We Are
"First we form habits, then they form us. Conquer your bad habits or they will conquer you."
What creates bad habits? Not what, but who. We do. People create bad habits. It's not like they just appear from thin air. We create them. Let me put one forth.
Alcohol.
I drink. Sometimes by myself, sometimes with others. Sometimes when I shouldn't, sometimes when I don't need to. Sometimes out of anger, sometimes out of sorrow.
See a pattern? Not healthy. Not for the mind. Not for the body.
Drinking just brings out of me the part that I wish didn't existed. And yet I still do it, why? Because I think I can control it? Because I think it won't do me any harm?
No. It's because I think I'm invincible, but really, because I'm stubborn. And this leads to making stupid decisions. Yes, I'm human, I err, but that doesn't cut me slack. I still need to learn from these mistakes.
Bad habits. They multiply. You need to understand that. You need to realize what bad habits you have and push them away from your life. Get rid of them. You don't need them.
Sometimes it's hard to do that, but that doesn't mean you should give up. Keep pushing them aside. Keep saying "NO" to them.
Cleanse your system, rid of these bad habits. Before these bad habits get rid of you, and they become you.
