Picture
Lady of Dread,
Lady of Slaughter,
Protector of the Dead,
Loyal come Hell or High Water.

Watcher of women, mothers, sisters,
daughters,
if you behave,
she'll offer you water.

But cross her,
and you'll drown instead,
for once sent down to curse humanity
for defying the gods,

don't forget her tenacity.

Offer up kindness,
treat each other well,
or she'll send you to Anubis,
to cross from here, to Hell.

Picture
Deity, goddess of cats,
Bast, goddess of war and fertility,
bringer of peace and tranquility.

Of music and dance,
watch her from afar,
she'll watch over you,
or tear you apart.

Confidant,
loyal,
and caring,
always helping.

She's kind if you are in good graces,
lest you misbehave she will tear up
your faces.

Joining our Royal Family,
Bast cares for humanity,
she is loyal and a friend,
a new Warrior til the End.

Myth #28: Osiris

12/25/2018

Picture
Thoth, god of the moon and writing, while conversing with Time in the almighty Tomb of Seker, flipped through the pages of the Sacred Book Of Ra, and explained to Time that soon, the battle to end all battles would begin.

Thoth was a smart god, always one step ahead of Time, except, he never showed himself that way to the other gods.

No.

Thoth was cautious.

Picture
And so, as Time listened to him tell the story,
Time knew he would have to make the last preparations for the final rite.

Time would bear witness,
as would the other gods,
to the fall of Osiris.

And nothing would ever be the same after.

Not for Time itself, or the other gods.

And the Sacred Book Of Ra would set itself aflame after the last weapon was drawn.

Picture
Osiris had felt it in his heart that a storm had been brewing in the horizon.

He had stood above the highest of pyramids and witnessed the world below alongside the moon and stars.

He felt there was an unknown force coming,
and that he had to be ready.

So Osiris took it upon himself to train,
he got stronger,
wiser,
and faster.

Osiris trained until his body could no longer hold his power,
until his own body started failing him.

But Osiris knew that Isis, his beloved wife,
would never leave his side.

And Isis would always heal Osiris.

Picture
And so the day came and Osiris had risen above all the others with an unknown force and power as well.

Osiris was battle-ready,
and confident that whatever came his way,
he would beat it.

And if he got hurt,
he would have Isis by his side at all Times.

Except, something else had been occurring behind Osiris' back.

Picture
Picture
Set had paid a visit to Anubis in the Netherworld and brokered a deal.

Set would enlist Anubis' help to bring about Osiris' death--
at a price.

So then came the trickery and as Time watched Set murder Osiris,
Anubis, from the Netherworld, worked his magic to make it impossible for this time to have Isis resurrect Osiris.

And so Osiris fell, died, and as Isis held his cold corpse in her hands,
Anubis sealed Osiris heart and mind deep into the Netherworld--separated from his body.

Picture
His body, instead, lied lifeless, embalmed, and mummified inside a tomb. A sarcophagus specially made by Set.

And Set would become its guardian for the rest of eternity.

Set would make sure Osiris' body would never leave that tomb.

And from that moment on, Time would look from above, in the heavens and laugh.

Time was pleased.

For Time, as you know,
it's a fickle thing.

Myth #27: Set

12/24/2018

Picture
Madness, chaos, disorder.
This was all the god Set knew, since the very instant he began to exist.

He followed through the land of Egypt searching for power, searching for ways to set upon the world utter destruction and pain.

Set was a motherfucker of a beastly god--all rage and pain.

Set was molded into existence for one purpose only--

To test the other gods.

And Set looked forward to each encounter.

Each test.

Picture
The first god Set tested was Osiris--

He had come across this godly pharaoh king and realized the power he held-- the way he made his followers bend to his every will.

Set wanted this-- no, he craved it.

He adored power like this.

And he would do anything to get his hands on it.

But he had to plan it well, for there was always someone watching after Osiris.

His wife Isis.

Picture
Picture
Set was an angry god, but he was also a stubborn god.

He would not rest until he got absolute power.

So Set went after Osiris, and succeeding, took him from the playing field, and now that it was open to a new ruler, Set would be ready to jump in.

But Time never plays by the rules.

Time is a fickle thing.

Picture
After Set's betrayal to Osiris, and with his body now in pieces down the river Nile,
his widow Isis took action.

She searched everywhere for his body, and after days and nights of searching was able to bring Osiris back to life.

Isis was a healer--

Always a healer.

It is what freed her.

Picture
Picture
It was during the time of Osiris' disappearance, however, that Set met another god--

Horus the Elder.

Set and Horus would from that moment on be destined to fight forever.

Horus the Elder would be the rightful king to the throne, but Set would rather die Time and Time again than to see his brother surpass him.

Picture
And Set tried everything--

Set did anything in his power to stop Horus, but it never worked.

Horus would always be one step ahead of him.

So Set decided to make a deal.

He visited the Netherworld and paid a visit to Anubis.

He enlisted his help.

But nothing good would come out of this.

Picture
Picture
Set wanted Horus out of the playing field for good, but Anubis knew that in order to do anything for his brother, Set would have to be tested himself.

And his heart would be weighed.

The only problem was, at this time,
Set's heart was corrupted.

It was empty.

Anubis had nothing to weight against the feather of Ma'at.

This made Set very angry,
and so he promised Anubis he would pay for his judgement, or lack-there-of, soon.

Picture
So Set decided to deal with Horus on his own.

And another kind of judgement came along this time.

Set would not be free.

After yet another defeat at the hands of Horus, Set was put on trial,
and with Ra watching over the spectacle,
Set was sentenced to slumber.

A sarcophagus was made and Set was forced to stay caged.

For a long time.

Until one day, Time got bored, and decided to shake things up.

Myth #26: Ra

12/21/2018

Picture
There was once a god, a powerful god, omnipotent. A god of gods, the first of many to come after Time got to see the land.

This god, Ra, was the one to bring about the beginning and the end respectively. He would give and he would take--whatever he saw fit before him, he would give to the people of the land, and whatever he thought they didn't deserve, he would rip from their hands.

This god, Ra, held the power of the sun at his fingertips. The other gods before him trembled upon his presence and whenever Ra demanded something, the other gods did it.

Until one day, one god rebelled.
One god said no.
One god decided to take over the throne.

Picture
Ra knew this day would come, that one day, someone would try to overpower him and take over the throne.

This wasn't news to Ra, for Ra was all-seeing and all-powerful.

So what Ra did was have a talk with Time, and made a deal.

Time offered a simple solution to Ra. Time would shift the skies and heavens into a more favorable position.

Time would create a moment that would be a catalyst for the future complications that would arrive in the rebellious god's prominent fall from power.

Time created an equal. A darker version of Osiris, and thus, Osiris would be challenged.

By Set.

Picture
Picture
Ra knew Set would challenge Osiris; that it would cause a shift in power, and Ra trusted Time.

Time never got it wrong.

So Ra watched from the heavens as everything occurred.

Ra watched the events unfold, and did nothing.

Ra saw Osiris get murdered at the hands of Set, tricked by his brother, and dethroned.

Ra then came to the realization that Time had only replaced one abomination with another.

And knew that soon, he too, would have to face against Set.

Picture
Ra had to plan ahead; he had to prepare, for he knew that soon...

...soon, there would come the plagues.

And Set would unleash upon the world a new kind of hell.

One that burned cold, and shone red.

A plague to end all worlds.

Even the ones Ra had swore to protect.

Myth #25: Sekhmet

12/20/2018

Picture
Hear her roar--don't you see, here she comes.
Easy now, don't fret, if she wanted you dead, you'd be dead.
Sekhmet, the lioness, fair to those who deserve it,
fair goddess, no less.
Watchful guardian, behold her might,
no burden escapes her sight.
Bringing forth gifts of healing,
roaring high,
her breath turning the sands,

revealing.
Enter unto prayer,
loyal substitute,
kneel down and join us,
sing and salute.

Behold!

Picture
"Behold, I smell the earth before the mighty one.
Behold how I have kept the vigil in the shrine of Sekhmet.
Behold, I am the child, the child of Sekhmet, the lady of the east.
I am with her. I am one with her.
I am Sekhmet and the flames of all those who praise her.
I am the hand of the powerful goddess, wearer of the solar disc. I am the twice beautiful one, more splendid than yesterday.
I am she who goes forth with Ra. I am she.
My hair is the hair of Sekhmet, the golden one. My eyes are the eyes of the lioness.
My ears are the ears of the goddess.
My nose is the nose of she who can sniff out all evil.
My  teeth are the fangs, which can devour the darkness
My neck is the neck of the divine goddess.
My hands are the hands with long claws.
My forearms are the forearms of the mighty one.
My backbone is golden and it shines with splendour
My  chest is the chest of the mighty one of terror.
My belly and back are the belly and back of Sekhmet.
My buttocks are strong, as the goddess .
My hips and legs are the hips and legs of the goddess
My feet are the clawed feet of the lion goddess.
There is no part of me that is not of the goddess.
I am Sekhmet who cometh forth in the dawn.
I am the power of Ra by day.
I shall not be dragged back by my arms and none shall lay violent hands upon me, lest I destroy them utterly.
Nether man nor god shall hurt me, nor shall the living,
Nor shall the holy dead detain me.
Nor shall the demons destroy me in battle, for I am Sekhmet
And I shall eat off their faces.
I am she who cometh forth.
I am yesterday and I am the seer of millions of years.
I am the power of the divine judge.
I dwell in the east.
I am the lady of eternity, the unveiled one.
My name is created to defy all evil.
I am the flame that shineth in the sanctuary.
I am Sekhmet."

Picture
Sekhmet sat upon her throne,
she was alone.
Watching humanity unfold,
staying young,
as the rest turned old.
She kept an eye for trouble,
watching over the wars,
and staring up to the sky,
as the planets converged,
alongside dancing stars.

Keeping to herself,
she was weary,
wouldn't let someone slip,
test those waters dreary.

She would never back down from a fight--
Blood!
Spraying along the sands of Egypt,
but always staying afloat the flood.

Picture
Hit and miss,
those who were jealous,
amiss.
Seeing her status--
above!
Much more powerful,
she was beloved.

Carried herself proudly,
too much at stake,
never backing down--
her roar always speaking loudly.

She did not know--
who was that?

Is someone watching,
from afar?

Ah, he was recognizable,
perhaps!
His eyes covered, no color--
just blacks.

Inquiry needed to be made,
not yet!
Busy with work,
too much to do,
but was he a threat?

Picture
Picture
Danced circles around him,
once met,
saw his eyes directly,
was it Set?

No, it was a different aura
he carried--
Much more darker,
and empty.

Taken aback, but calmly,
she had someone to be loved,
so proudly.

A world unlike another,
but hers,
made from her essence,
personal affairs.

Did this figure know much about her,
she wondered,
have only met briefly,
and so her heart thundered.

Picture
A goddess,
a mother,
was this strange figure worth the bother?

Plenty busy with her offspring,
juggling life--
Would this figure be worth it,
would he be proven worth to be King?

Nothing stood in her way,
or her child's,
but meeting this goddess was not mild.

A task only worthy of a strong opponent,
would this strange figure be the right component?

Picture
"Why do you dress like so,
pitch black?
Are you ashamed to show
every weakness, every crack?"

"This is no cover, I prefer the dark,
here in this vessel,
I will judge your heart."

"Is that a scale, in your pocket?
Or are you happy to see me,"
she joked, staring at his empty eye sockets.

Anubis said nothing, sitting next to her, observing.

"Are you tense, you do not look comfortable--"

"Goddess, you are insufferable."

The Jackal and The Lioness had met,
while from the shadows he observed--
the other God named Set.

The two had been at war recently,
fighting for the land,
each one trying to get the upper hand.

Anubis burned upon Set his mark,
a bastardization of a monarch.

A curse he laid upon his vessel,
now Set would have to surrender,
retreat to his temple.

Meanwhile Anubis followed Sekhmet,
whenever she resided,
he would never want to forget.

And slowly the god stopped judging her heart
against the feather,
because there was something new upon the chart.

There upon his scale,
he balanced his own,
Sekhmet had stolen something,
and watched over him from her throne.

Picture
So Anubis one day came knocking,
upon her altar left a prayer,
and she came out walking,
no time to spare.

They locked each other's eyes,
and saw the reflection--
what is love at first sight,
but the perfect plague--
an infection?

They took each other--
an embrace,
and with loud roars and howls,
there started the infamous race.

A beautiful chase--
for everything that fell apart,
reconstructed upon its place.

Anubis turned sand into roses,
each one as colorful,
and in different poses.

A Garden for his goddess,
somewhere to Seek Her Out,
to find himself,
and reach solace.

For Anubis would get stuck sometimes--
repetition--
was it because Set was still free,
was this still his mission?

A raging fire inside him set aflame,
but all Anubis wanted,
was for it to be tamed.

And Time passed,
as it always does,
observing close,
but from afar.

Anubis and Sekhmet reunited,
taking Sekhmet's offspring for excitement.
It was Sekhmet's favorite pyramid,
but watch out!
Inside it's walls laid a maze,
a hideout!
Anubis had never seen this architecture,
Sekhmet promised fun,
no more literature.

Anubis observed,
thinking of his scale,
wondering if this moment would be worthy,
against the feather--
but something distracted him,
for a second,
Sekhmet's furious roar,
shaking the walls,
it was an insolent pest,
that was testing her patience once more.

Anubis didn't think twice,
he offered himself,
he would take the place of target,
to protect the offspring,
this moment would be weighed as well.

So he walked towards the pest that had provoked Sekhmet's fury,
held out his scale, and stared into the human's eyes,
"Let's weight your heart against the feather of Ma'at,
should you be worthy,
I won't be devouring your heart."
The pest looked at him, and scoffed,
he wasn't afraid of his vessel,
human form, it was soft.
But then Anubis revealed himself,
and judged him,
the human pest was not worthy.
"The scales have judged you, human,
and now for your actions,
you will be ruined."

Sekhmet from a distance observed confused,
holding her offspring in her arms,
she wondered, amused.

Anubis came back to her,
the human's soul now departed,
and they looked at each other,
and walked forward,
out to travel to her garden.

"You did not have to do that, Anubis,"
said she.
"No one should disrespect you, or your offspring,"
said he.

Anubis and Sekhmet from this moment forth would encounter themselves once more,
despite living apart,
far as Time always chose,
and so goes on the lore.

For Time is a fickle thing,
but a monster of a god,
Anubis and Sekhmet would reunite,
even with Set still watching from the shadows,
jealous and plotting,
and for this--
Time would applaud.

Myth #24: Isis

12/20/2018

Picture
Long ago, the goddess Isis was given her hand in marriage to another god-- Osiris. She was to be faithful to him for eternity, and was to follow him everywhere he went.

Osiris was a high king and ruled all over the land, but Isis was never too fond of the arrangement that had been chosen for her.

Isis always wanted to live her life the way she wanted to-- free.

But things were never easy, no, Time always got to you, no matter if you were mortal or god. Human or otherwise.

So one day, Time came knocking on Isis' temple-- a vision came upon her!
A vision of a future murder that would occur, and the victim? Osiris.

Isis was so shaken by this vision, she tried to do anything to stop it from becoming true, but to no avail, could not save her husband Osiris.

Picture
Osiris then, tricked by the god Set, was caged in a sarcophagus and taken away from his kingdom.

His sarcophagus, holding him prisoner, was tossed into the river Nile and as the current dragged him around, turned his body apart.

Pieces of it were scattered, and Osiris was spread, dead and his soul stuck in limbo until a proper burial and mummification could be done.

Isis, carefully searched for her husband's body and was able to reconstruct it.

Isis was a very powerful goddess and magician.

Despite previous adultery committed by her late husband Osiris, Isis would do anything in her power to defy Set, and now more so after the death of Osiris.

From Osiris' reconstruction, Isis bore him a son-- Horus The Child.

But Time would come once again to collect the blood tears from the gods; Time saw Horus The Child grow into Horus The Elder and engage in a never-ending battle against Set, and as Isis stood firmly, watching it all unfold as well, she knew there would come a time when she would have to intervene.

Isis would need to enter the catacombs and travel further down to encounter the King of the Netherworld-- Anubis. There, she would ask him for a favor, a favor that Anubis would collect in Time.

And so, days turned to night, and night turned into days, and Anubis came knocking at Isis' chambers, ready to fulfill what was long ago professed.

Anubis would hunt down Set, and bare upon him a mark--
A mark that would render him weaker, and from that, Horus would finally beat his sibling, and the skies would thunder while the other gods joined in observing the final war.

But what exactly do you think Isis gave Anubis in exchange for this favor?

What would she be willing to sacrifice?
To lose?

Forever?

Myth #22 & Myth #23: Deimos & Phobos

Picture
Lo! ’t is a gala night
   Within the lonesome latter years!
An angel throng, bewinged, bedight
In veils, and drowned in tears,
Sit in a theatre, to see
A play of hopes and fears,
While the orchestra breathes fitfully
   The music of the spheres.

Mimes, in the form of God on high,
   Mutter and mumble low,
And hither and thither fly—
Mere puppets they, who come and go
At bidding of vast formless things
That shift the scenery to and fro,
Flapping from out their Condor wings
   Invisible Wo!

That motley drama—oh, be sure
   It shall not be forgot!
With its Phantom chased for evermore
By a crowd that seize it not,
Through a circle that ever returneth in
   To the self-same spot,
And much of Madness, and more of Sin,
And Horror the soul of the plot.

But see, amid the mimic rout,
   A crawling shape intrude!
A blood-red thing that writhes from out
   The scenic solitude!
It writhes!—it writhes!—with mortal pangs
The mimes become its food,
And seraphs sob at vermin fangs
   In human gore imbued.

Out—out are the lights—out all!
   And, over each quivering form,
The curtain, a funeral pall,
Comes down with the rush of a storm,
While the angels, all pallid and wan,
   Uprising, unveiling, affirm
That the play is the tragedy, “Man,”
And its hero, the Conqueror Worm.

Picture
Music to hear, why hear'st thou music sadly?
Sweets with sweets war not, joy delights in joy:
Why lov'st thou that which thou receiv'st not gladly,
Or else receiv'st with pleasure thine annoy?
If the true concord of well-tuned sounds,
By unions married, do offend thine ear,
They do but sweetly chide thee, who confounds
In singleness the parts that thou shouldst bear.
Mark how one string, sweet husband to another,
Strikes each in each by mutual ordering;
Resembling sire and child and happy mother,
Who, all in one, one pleasing note do sing:
Whose speechless song being many, seeming one,
Sings this to thee: 'Thou single wilt prove none.'

Picture
Thou wast that all to me, love,
For which my soul did pine—
A green isle in the sea, love,
A fountain and a shrine,
All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers,
And all the flowers were mine.

Ah, dream too bright to last!
Ah, starry Hope! that didst arise
But to be overcast!
A voice from out the Future cries,
“On! on!”—but o’er the Past
(Dim gulf!) my spirit hovering lies
Mute, motionless, aghast!

For, alas! alas! with me
The light of Life is o’er!
No more—no more—no more—
(Such language holds the solemn sea
To the sands upon the shore)
Shall bloom the thunder-blasted tree,
Or the stricken eagle soar!

And all my days are trances,
And all my nightly dreams
Are where thy grey eye glances,
And where thy footstep gleams—
In what ethereal dances,
By what eternal streams.

Myth #21: Horus

12/19/2018

Picture
Time and Time again, history repeats itself. Humans wage war against one another, while the gods sit at their thrones and watch the carnage unfold.

However, war was not new to the gods--no, war was a very familiar aspect that always seemed to come around Time and Time again.

Horus The Elder was particularly close to what war brought, for he had too fought and fought continuously. Against who, you might ask? Why, Horus The Elder always fought his brother Set, and every single time, Horus The Elder won.

Set would not give up, however, and would always engulf himself in a storm of rage. This was because Set had always been jealous of his brother Osiris, the rightful King to the Throne.

Picture
Osiris knew that once he would leave this world and his soul would travel unto the stars, that someone had to take his place as rightful King.

Horus, the embodiment of order, would always try to keep the kingdom together, but Set would always challenge him and embrace chaos that would always engulf Horus and test him.

Horus The Elder and Set would be stuck in a everlasting battle, with no opportune proof that the fight would end.

And still, every single time, Horus The Elder came out victorious.

Even at one point in Time when Set tore Horus' eye.

Picture
But Horus The Elder would never rest in peace, for Set would always be one step behind him, chasing him, taunting at his heels.

It was one day that Horus found out what Set had done to Osiris, which angered the God of Order.

Set had tricked Osiris, brought him a gift to a dinner he made in his honour.

Set had built a sarcophagus that would only fit Osiris, and had everyone at the dinner try it, until it was Osiris' turn, and once Osiris positioned himself inside of it,
Set had his followers nail the sarcophagus shut, caging Osiris--trapping him with no promise of escape.

It was then that Set had his followers throw the sarcophagus far into the river Nile, and as the current swallowed Osiris, the current also destroyed him.

Isis made it her mission to find the sarcophagus, and after retrieving it, found that Osiris' corpse had drowned and been torn to pieces. Pieces which scattered throughout the river.

Horus The Elder, in a fit of anger swore to end the battle with Set once and for all.

However, Horus needed help. Horus needed to call upon other gods to assist in the defeat of Set.

And this battle...would be the battle to end all wars.

Or so Horus The Elder hoped.

Myth #19 & #20: Aphrodite & Ares

12/17/2018

Picture
Long ago, there lived a queen, a goddess among others. She was hidden in plain sight, posing as a human, hiding her might. Unbeknownst to humanity, she went about her day like any other, with little to no bother. Or so it seemed. She would interact with the people of the kingdom, exchanging looks and jokes, she always presented herself happy, ignoring their facade, their hoax. You see, humans always liked to pretend, and this was specially the case in this environment that Aphrodite now situated herself in. So she would observe, always playing close attention, listening to her gut, even when she was confused by the humans, and all she could say is "What?"
Then time passed, as time always does, escaping everyone around, days turning into nights, nights into days back again, and humans alone swallowing their pain. However, one day a force came strong, and Aphrodite was stunned, she didn't recognize who this human was, she hadn't seen him before. Something about him stood out--as he did from a crowd. Aphrodite carried on, but somehow, this human kept popping up, and she recognized how other humans responded to his presence. She didn't pay much attention, until one day, this human disappeared. No one knew why or when it happened, just that he had left the kingdom.

Long ago, there lived a king, a god among men. He was hidden, his true power concealed in his human form, this vessel as fragile as the others. He had chosen to escape from his brothers, and hide among the living, while forgetting the rest. His path of destruction had brought nothing but pain to his siblings, until he did what he had to do to stay ahead. He took this form, entering upon the kingdom, blending in, accepting the fresh new scene. What no one knew, however, was that he still followed his evil scheme. War was all he knew, it was his nature, and blood was his teacher.
Until one day, he was told to go far, he would need more training, to embrace a new art. Leaving the humans behind, he embarked on this journey, wishing it would be over soon. And soon it was, as when he had completed the tasks, this tests he was forced to do, he returned to the kingdom, where unbeknownst to him, someone else had also been in hiding. Someone who had already noticed him, even though he didn't notice her.

The goddess Aphrodite then one day noticed the strange human had returned, it was a spectacle, as he seemed changed. There was an aura about him that attracted her, but she did not know why. It was then that Aphrodite decided she better play closer attention to this human, after all, she was a goddess of love, and she wanted to learn to love again, for she had come to hide among the humans because of her broken heart. But it wasn't because she was broken--no, Aphrodite was strong, and fierce, carrying her sword close to her heart, for if anyone was to ever come close to it again, she would have to protect herself, and anyone trying to touch it, would have to face against her might.
Aphrodite then, one day, running amok the humans, was startled, as she noticed the strange human directed his voice towards her. Stopping her in her tracks, as she was always a busy and hardworking goddess, Aphrodite looked at the strange human and listened.

"I enjoy your appearance today--" the god said, then thought to himself, say, what is her name?

The god was confused, for he had never noticed her before, he had been too busy with his new tasks among the humans, and all he cared about was carrying his little plan.

"Hey, thanks," the goddess said smiling, as she continued about her day, but thinking in the back of her mind, maybe now I need to know more.

Ares was a broken god--but he never presented himself this way, he always put on a show, to hide his emotions, his feelings that he always knew got in the way of everything. All he was, was pure rage. That is the only feeling and emotion he was interested in showing and using. Ares was now in his mission, to rise above the humans, embrace his power and shower it over them, showing them he could rule this kingdom on his own. Ares was stubborn, for Time has a way of playing with events, and Ares always chose to ignore Time. It was irrelevant to him, he didn't understand it nor did he want to. Until one day, while taking a break from the facade that is to be human to a god, Ares came across a note. A simple piece of paper with some handwriting on it, and it had been taped to one of his elixirs he so carefully kept from everyone else. These elixirs kept him alert, ready for battle, until this note. Then something had changed. The elixirs were now on someone's trail. Someone was keeping tabs and knew the elixirs were his, but most importantly, the note let Ares know that whoever put it there, wouldn't back down from this game... The game that would soon become... a meeting of the gods.

Days passed and nights came forth, winds changed to snow in the god's green earth. Ares made it his mission to find who had been tampering with his elixirs, and to no avail, was always one step behind Aphrodite. She had the upper hand and all she wanted to do was keep playing this game until Ares intervened.
One day, Ares confronted Aphrodite, the secret was out, and she had been discovered.

"What took you so long?" she teased the god, only known as human to her.

"A part of me didn't want to believe it was you who would dare meddle with my belongings. You really shouldn't do that." The god told the goddess, only known as human to him.

Ares emanated his raw energy out into the world around them, his rage and fury covered the air like a musk that suffocated any human that came in touch with it--but not to the goddess Aphrodite, no-- she instead, embraced it. Let it wash over her, like the spring flowers scent and the beautiful air after a day's of rain.

"I believe given the circumstances, those elixirs belong to me now. Said so the rules."

"Ha Ha, only because you left your mark on them?"

"Exactly because I left my mark on them."

Ares looked upon Aphrodite, still not knowing she, too, was a god. And she looked upon Ares, the same way.

Soon, Ares would be tested--given a labor. A labor of love, in which Ares would see Aphrodite in all her might and glory, as she gave herself completely to him for the first time, igniting what only the stars and the constellations would be witness to. A spark that would light aflame inside Ares' extinguished heart. It would be at this time that each other would come to a realization, that they were never gods hiding as humans, but humans, born to be gods.

Now, dear reader, you might think I will write down the ending to this myth, however, it is in my best interest to tell you that this story is endless. It has no ending. Sure, it has a beginning, a middle, and continuing story--but like any great myth, it is larger than life.

You see, Ares and Aphrodite fell in love, a love unlike any other-- a love that is timeless. That is, until Time came knocking. Stealing Ares from Aphrodite, over and over again, testing their love every day and night.

But true love always burns bright.

You see, Ares and Aphrodite, they are gods unlike any others. They are gods out of this time.

Prisoners to no one but themselves. Time, on the other hand, Time is a sneaky, trickster god, and it always tests the gods out of time. Why, you might ask?

Well, that is another story altogether...
