Thoth, god of the moon and writing, while conversing with Time in the almighty Tomb of Seker, flipped through the pages of the Sacred Book Of Ra, and explained to Time that soon, the battle to end all battles would begin.
Thoth was a smart god, always one step ahead of Time, except, he never showed himself that way to the other gods.
No.
Thoth was cautious.

And so, as Time listened to him tell the story,
Time knew he would have to make the last preparations for the final rite.
Time would bear witness,
as would the other gods,
to the fall of Osiris.
And nothing would ever be the same after.
Not for Time itself, or the other gods.
And the Sacred Book Of Ra would set itself aflame after the last weapon was drawn.

Osiris had felt it in his heart that a storm had been brewing in the horizon.
He had stood above the highest of pyramids and witnessed the world below alongside the moon and stars.
He felt there was an unknown force coming,
and that he had to be ready.
So Osiris took it upon himself to train,
he got stronger,
wiser,
and faster.
Osiris trained until his body could no longer hold his power,
until his own body started failing him.
But Osiris knew that Isis, his beloved wife,
would never leave his side.
And Isis would always heal Osiris.

And so the day came and Osiris had risen above all the others with an unknown force and power as well.
Osiris was battle-ready,
and confident that whatever came his way,
he would beat it.
And if he got hurt,
he would have Isis by his side at all Times.
Except, something else had been occurring behind Osiris' back.

Set had paid a visit to Anubis in the Netherworld and brokered a deal.
Set would enlist Anubis' help to bring about Osiris' death--
at a price.
So then came the trickery and as Time watched Set murder Osiris,
Anubis, from the Netherworld, worked his magic to make it impossible for this time to have Isis resurrect Osiris.
And so Osiris fell, died, and as Isis held his cold corpse in her hands,
Anubis sealed Osiris heart and mind deep into the Netherworld--separated from his body.

His body, instead, lied lifeless, embalmed, and mummified inside a tomb. A sarcophagus specially made by Set.
And Set would become its guardian for the rest of eternity.
Set would make sure Osiris' body would never leave that tomb.
And from that moment on, Time would look from above, in the heavens and laugh.
Time was pleased.
For Time, as you know,
it's a fickle thing.
