"Happy, please..." Roman pleaded, his life escaping his breath.
"I told you."
Happy kept walking the New Mexico desert, miles and miles, looking for the next name on his list: Banner.
Upon reaching a small town, Happy noticed the air had gotten colder. Much, much colder. The sun had started going down and he noticed the town was empty. No one roaming the streets, no business open, nothing.
Until he saw him; a dark figure in a three piece suit, sitting on a recliner chair, outside a bar; the sign was tore down, barely hanging: LUX, the sign read. The figure was smoking a cigarette.
"Hey, bub, I don't suppose you can get me a beer, eh?"
"My, My, Look At You, You Are A Chip From The Old Block, Aren't You?" The figure stood up, and started walking towards Happy.
"Listen, pal, I have been walking miles and miles and I could really use a drink."
"Ah Yes, Of Course. Say, You Care For Some Whiskey Instead?"
"I wouldn't say no to that, I guess. Who are you suppose ta be?"
"Name's Lucifer. Lucifer Morningstar. I Believe You Are Looking For Someone Aren't You?"
Happy got angry, sniffed something in the air, so he rushed Lucifer. Grabbed him from his shirt collar, slowly pushing his claws out, nearing his throat.
"What would you know about that, bub? Something doesn't smell right here."
"Ah Yes, Of Course. Sharp One, Aren't You?"
"Can it with the jokes, pal. How do you know about me?"
"You're The Wolverine, Of Course. Everyone Knows About You. You're Just Like Me. One Of The Collective."
Happy let go of Lucifer, took two steps back. And smirked.
"Well, well, if it isn't the red bastard." Happy said, eagerly, as he approached Banner, sitting upon a pile of corpses. He was munching on what looked like a silver leg.
"Logan. Hello, Runt. You're A Sight For Sore Teeth."
"Oh how about we just get to it, yeah?"
Happy rushed Banner, but Banner immediately smacked him away with the leg he was munching on. Happy went flying, hitting a nearby wall.
"Mister Truth. I can smell you. You smell rotten."
"And You, I Imagine, Will Taste Better Than That."
Banner rushed Happy, grabbing him from both arms, spreading him so as to tear him in half. Happy screamed in pain, struggling to get loose. He had been tired and like the song he used to listen to back in the day, he thought it would be best to just blame it on the a-a-a-alcohol.
"I Am Famished. The Grey One Didn't Quite Satisfy My Appetite, But You, Oh Indeed You Will."
Banner bit Happy right on his chest, another blood-curling scream escaped his lips, but Happy wasn't finished.
"Maybe drinking that whiskey is what you are tasting, Mister Truth, but don't worry... Good thing I still know what you like."
"What Is That?"
"To be sliced!"
Happy noticed Banner had been distracted long enough for his right arm to get loose, and so he swung at him, stabbing him right in the left eye. Banner screamed and as he stood up, pulled Happy with him, his claws still sticking in his eye.
Happy then took his other arm and stabbed Banner in the neck. Banner gave Happy a bear hug and started crushing him. Both screaming in agony as they tore one another. Happy then retracted both claws, and managed to stab Banner in both sides of his neck, ripping his throat apart. Banner started choking, blood spilling out like a geyser.
Banner dropped Happy, covering his throat so as to not lose too much blood. Still choking he took a few steps back.
"I-- Tguht Y00 W3ll, Chald," he struggled with the words.
"You always did that, Mister Truth, always teaching me, but one thing you should have been doing, was protecting me. Now they took my heart and I can't help but feel nothing as I am about to rip out yours."
Happy jumped and kicked Banner in the chest, making him stumble. Happy ran for the back of his legs, slashing him, then stabbed him a couple of times in the back, quick stabs, in and out in and out, then circled around him again, slashed his face, tearing an eyeball out.
Banner fell to the ground, and Happy walked over to him, got on top and looked him in his one good eye.
"This is for Peter."
Then Happy sunk both claws where Banner's heart laid, deeper and deeper, until he felt the claws hit his beating heart. He started spreading both arms away so as to open his chest.
Happy then grabbed his sliced heart and showed it to him.
"Goodbye, Mister Truth."
Happy squished Banners heart below his boot, and headed away from him. The moonlight started shining down on him, and he knew he was just getting started.
