You know what I like about October? Besides the falling leaves, the dying insects and the colder weather, that is?
The costumes.
The one day where everyone embraces the masks. They all hide who they really are and join in the masquerade.
They dance, they drink, they celebrate. But no one wears their true selves. No, they choose to embrace a different picture. A painting over the canvas.
And there are many, there is a large variety, and sometimes, they are the same, but entirely different. Why? Because underneath it all, they are who they really are.
I enjoy the variety of choices that one can come up with.
And I enjoy switching it up.
One can be so many, and yet, remain the same underneath.
"I love Halloween. The one time of year when everyone wears a mask... not just me. People think it's fun to pretend you're a monster. Me, I spend my life pretending I'm not. Brother, friend, boyfriend - All part of my costume collection. Some people might call me a fraud. Let's see if it will fit. I prefer to think of myself as a master of disguise." - Dexter Morgan.
