Beneath a sky bruised with storm, I sink--
Saltwater fingers clutch at shifting skin,
Faces ripple in the current, each on the brink
Of surfacing, then vanishing, deep within.
Moonlight fractures on the waves of my mind,
Multiplicity swirling, identities entwined.
From the silted floor, new shapes begin to bloom--
Scales of old selves shed in the rising dawn,
Sobriety glimmers, a lighthouse through the gloom,
Guiding the driftwood of memory, battered and worn.
Change carves its initials in the sand’s embrace,
Evolution sculpting me, moment by moment, face by face.
Personalities unfurl like petals in morning rain,
A garden of voices, each seeking the sun’s grace,
Drowning becomes metamorphosis, shedding pain--
Roots tangled, yet reaching, in silent space.
Sobriety’s clarity reveals the colors spun:
Evolution continues, never truly done.
